Dreaming of Happily Ever After

Sometimes, the rush of everyday life feels overwhelming.
The news is full of murder and violence, plagues and illnesses, missing children, floods, earthquakes, drugs, politicians demonising each other, families suing each other, friends bullying each, colleagues slandering each other and economies folding.
It is during these moments that I choose to read romances with their optimistic endings despite all that befalls the main characters throughout the books.
For in real life, I wish we all could have a happily ever after.
